December 2015 - Pre-Wedding Festivities

The Marriage Celebration in full was about a two week holiday with activities and things planned up the wazoo!

We spent more of the time before the wedding days with Gogo and Baba, enjoying Franschhoek, relaxing with the boys, and trying to help in any way we could.

We then headed to Robertson for four nights or so to this incredible nature reserve where the marriage celebration festivities were held.

Highlights of all this time included time with our dear Auntie Dawn. The boys really loved time with her, and it was so special to have her there. Sarah and Michael Lewis were there as well as Tom & Helga and their boys.

The setting was just spectacular! Great cottages right up agains the mountains. There was a gorgeous pool and a lake for swimming. We did a bit of hiking and would have liked even more! We went out on a lunch time river cruise one day. I seem to have missed pictures from that and from one of the celebration dinners.

Here are pictures from the braii that was held the night before the wedding at another lodge nearby. It was absolutely gorgeous. Oh my goodness...this part of the world is absolutely incredible! Mom had organized local music for the event from a township group. It was fabulous!
