November went by in a flash! Here were some of the
highlights.
We had fun one Saturday at the Hopewell Harvest Festival –
always a favorite!
Lewis and Beau saw their first theater performance: Snow
White at the Off Broad Street Theater in Hopewell. I took Lewis and Beau on
Friday and met up with Lewis’s friend Caroline and her mommy. Lewis liked it so
much that he decided he wanted to go again the next day with Daddy, so they had
their first, official daddy-son outing! And that time, Lewis got to be one of
the dwarves!
Lewis had his very first...school pictures! Mommy grabbed the scissors for a quick hair cut the morning of. Well worth it - very cute!
Norah hosted a bridal shower for a friend. The big
undertaking for the shower was a bunch of edible arrangements that Mike also
helped with. We pretty much spent all day making arrangements, but they did
look oh-so-cute!
We had a great time up in Rhode Island with Zeez, Tom, Gogo,
and Ella for Thanksgiving. It was a pretty quick trip...up on Thursday morning,
back on Saturday afternoon. But, we ate enough for it to have been a whole
week!

Gogo provided a DIVINE Thanksgiving dinner at Zeez and Tom’s little flat. She’s
always so amazing! Tommy was even feeling well enough to sample a bite of
everything. We felt so happy that he could still eat and taste things. Within a
couple days after that, it was all feeding tube all the time. I had made three
pies for the occasion. Yes, that’s three pies for 5 adults and 2 kids. We did a
pretty good job on them! (Chocolate pecan, Key Lime, Pumpkin with a ginger snap
crust and a bruleé topping...Mmm!) We also had lots of fun walking around
Bristol, RI, throwing rocks into the water, and playing inside of Lewis’s “crib
tent”. For a birthday treat, Mike sent the girls out for pedicures together!
And, Gogo threw the cutest little birthday party for me and Zeez before we left
to come home. Such a treat!

Birthday party! As Gogo pointed out, probably the only party
Zeez and I have ever had outdoors, in the sun, without jackets.

We gave Zeez a raincoat for Ella, complete with hat.

At the beginning of December, we just went a little bit
crazy trying to get our holiday things taken care of while also packing up for
our Cape Town trip! We know...tough problem to have! I helped out with some
silent auction contributions for Lewis’s pre-school class. And, we had the other Wasdens over for our traditional pre-Christmas get together.
My dear friend
Colleenee-Baneenee flew into town for a day and played with us! That’s always
the best surprise. She helped me start in on some holiday treats for Mike’s
work that I totally botched because I was having too much fun with her. We did
salvage the mess into little truffle balls and make some peppermint bark to go
with them. Then Lewis and Beau dressed up in their holiday finest (lederhosen
for Lewis, of course!) and we visited Daddy at work to spread some holiday
cheer. I do have to say, Lewis was the cutest ever! He walked around asking
everyone, “Would you like a treat? Here, try that one...”, and then he’s point
his head down towards the little candies in the basket. Then, he’d tell
everyone happy holidays, and a few lucky people even got a little verse of
jingle bells out of him. So cute!
The last big news that arrived literally the day before we
left was that Mike has a new position at work! Yay for Daddy! He is the new
brand manager on Rogaine. So, we’ve said our farewell to the world of feminine hygiene,
and it’s on to hair growth. Exciting things are ahead, we’re sure! We’re very happy
for him!
