Playing Outside

Everything was a bit soggy when I picked Lewis up from school today. But, since it wasn't actually raining, we had a bit of playtime outside before lunch. These munchkins move rather quickly, but I caught a few good shots!

Keeping us Busy

It's been a wonderful spring so far! These boys are keeping us busy!

We had a lovely Easter together. Our town has an annual hunt at Kunkel Park, right in our neighborhood. Lewis got to meet the Easter Bunny there, and he was quite awe struck. In fact, when he caught sight of him, he ran up to me yelling, "Mommy, it's the Easter Bunny!", and then promptly broke down in tears - it was all a bit much! After that, he spent a lot of time just standing opposite the bunny, waving at him with this cute, timid little smile!

We woke up Easter morning and delved into some delicious baskets! Lewis and Beau were both all too excited to have chocolate for breakfast! After everyone got cleaned up, it was time for our egg hunt. The boys had been to an egg hunt at church while we were out in Vegas. Then the Pennington egg hunt. By the time we had our egg hunt on Easter morning, they were pros!

After that, we had a very cute lunch, served in our Easter eggs. (Thank you pinterest!)

Then it was off to church for our Easter Sunday service.

After church, we had the Wasdens over for a delicious Easter lunch...ham, sweet potatoes, beans, salad, rolls, chocolate sour cream bundt cake, and white chocolate molten lava cakes with raspberries. Mmmmmm!!!

We spent most of the rest of the month trying to keep up with our crazy boys! Beau is officially a climber. He pushes chairs over to tables or to the couch and shimmies on up. He pushes his firetruck and uses that as a launching pad too. One of the afternoons when the boys were a bit sick (there have been many this month!), Lewis was watching a Micky Mouse show on my computer. Normally Beau hasn't been interested in shows, but this time he was very into it, pointing and babbling away. I had gone to the kitchen to start cooking, but then Lewis started calling that Beau was pushing the buttons. I assumed Beau was standing on his tippy toes, reaching his hand up to the computer. But, no...this is what I found...

He's trouble!

Beau is also getting really good at feeding himself! ;-)
I normally don't let him feed himself yogurt or applesauce...just too much. But every once in a while, there are those afternoons when the 5 minutes of peace and quiet I will have by letting him feed himself while I spend a few minutes alone in the kitchen is worth the 15 minutes of clean up afterwards!

Lewis also had a Teddy Bear Picnic at school this month, and the parents were invited to come at the end of the morning to participate in music time. It was very fun!

Mrs. Law & Mrs. Lingerfield - Lewis' teachers
We ended the month with another sick week...hand, foot, and mouth - Coxsackie. Beau had the sores and the rash. Lewis and I just had the fever and really sore throat. Mike was in NYC for work all week. Not fun!!!

Once that was over, I had such cabin fever that we were all the more eager to head down to Charlottesville for the weekend for Mike's 5 year Darden Reunion. It was a fabulous weekend! We caught up with lots of our old Darden friends. We stayed with Jason and Katie and had such a fun time catching up with them. They were fabulous hosts, and the boys just loved them! And, we even happened to bump into Aidyn and Mike Mills, two of our other dear friends. They are living in Spain this year, but happened to be back for a week. It was perfect!
There were a few little girls at this get together.
They weren't interested in the mud at all.
But our boys were all over it!

Our other big news to end the month...Mike got a promotion!!! Yay, Michael!!!
Same product...same job...just the official promotion to Senior Brand Manager! We're SO proud of him!

Cat & Tamer Wedding

Mike and I kicked off April with a trip out to Las Vegas for Cat & Tamer's wedding!!! :-)

It was SUCH a treat to be together with the whole family for such a happy occasion. We hired our friends Kristen and Ben to come and watch the kids for a few days while we were gone. So, the boys had a fabulous time...and mom and dad had a really fabulous time!

The whole Wasden clan stayed at Green Valley Ranch, just near Cat's house. It was heaven! We spent hours and hours just lounging around on these huge cabana style beds they had out by the pool. Snuggle time on the family bed - it was perfect! Cat & Tam stayed there too, so we had lots of time with them before the wedding and after. Such a treat! Mike and I adore our boys to bits, but we really loved being able to focus on the rest of the family without chasing munchkins.

The wedding itself was just beautiful. Intimate, fun, just perfect! We're so excited to welcome Tamer into the family - he's an amazing man, and he and Cat are such a great match. Yay!

We did come home to both boys having conjunctivitis and ear infections in both ears. Good thing we had such a good time...it was a rough landing!
