90th Percentile!!!

Hello world!

Lewis is getting so chunky!!!!! Look at those rolls! At his 2 month doctor's appointment on February 19th, he weighed in at 13lbs, 6oz, putting him in the 90th percentile for weight! He's such a cute, roly-poly little boy now. Everyone agrees that he's lost that newborn look, and he's catching up with his friends who are a few months older!

We've had a nice last few weeks. Our big event was having Baba and Auntie Fobo come to visit for President's Day weekend. The weekend included lots of cuddling and adoring of Lewis, of course. We had an adventure on the Saturday. Workers across the street from our house hit a gas line. There was a big explosion right outside our window, and pretty soon we could smell gas. We were quickly evacuated from the neighborhood and headed off into Princeton for the afternoon where we ate some yummy soup and spent an hour or so in the Bent Spoon - our favorite ice cream place! After that, Mike and Norah left Lewis with his Aunt and Baba and headed off to New Hope for a Valentine's Day dinner. We had hoped to be allowed home first so that we could change out of our sweatpants, but it just made our dinner all the more fun; candlelight dinner on the water...in sweatpants!!! We were finally able to go back home at about 9pm, and we were very grateful!

Our other big adventure for the weekend was heading into NYC on Monday! We took the train into the city in the morning, stroller and all. Norah was a little bit geared up, hoping the nursing schedule would go as planned, but everything went swimmingly. (In fact, we had a little miracle and Lewis actually slept through the night on Sunday before our big day out! He hasn't done it since, but it was so nice of him to do it before such a busy day!) Once we arrived, Lewis went off to the Museum of Natural History with his Auntie Fobo and Baba, and Mike and Norah slipped off to our church's temple in Manhattan. We all met back up for lunch at a NY diner, just in time for Lewis to eat as well. Then we headed down to Soho and visited a famous chocolatier where we had the most rich, decadent hot chocolate we ever could have imagined! We browsed some shops and then headed back home and dropped into bed. It was a very fun day, and it felt exciting to be out and about again!

Since then, we've just been enjoying life with our baby. He seems to have a very sweet disposition, and we just adore him. Lewis has also had a day in the office with Daddy. And, he's been getting in lots of walks and jogs with Mommy. He loves having his 3 cousins line up for time holding him, and he loves his Auntie M and Uncle Jake. And, we've felt so loved and supported and spoiled by such generous friends and family members, which we really appreciate! Norah's starting to feel the sleep deprivation build, but we're holding out hope that this kiddo will start sleeping through the night before too long! We'll see!

For today's post, we thought we'd create a list of things that Lewis does and doesn't like.

Things I like:
Smiling at the colored eggs in the living room
Dancing with Mommy to Michael Jackson
Lullabies by Mom and Dad
Being tickled while Mommy sings to me
Light – I can’t focus on anything else when there’s a bright window
Baba’s warm hands
Didi's chin chopper
Cuddling
Being held
Trying to suck on my hands
Sleeping in my car seat
Sleeping in my swing
Sleeping in people’s arms
Sleeping in my crib
Eating!!! I always have lots of smiles and coos afterwards.
Going for walks and jogs
Things I don’t like:
Tummy time (although it’s getting better)
When I’m tired
Needing to go poopy
When I can’t figure out how to suck on my hands properly
Having my mouth wiped
Having the boogies suctioned out of my nose
Lying down all the time – I like to stand up and look around at everything
Really rich hot chocolate – when Mommy drinks that, it gives me gas!

Lots of love to everyone, and let us know when you're coming to meet baby Lewis, or when we can come and see you!!!
And, here are the latest videos of Lewis and his cute smiles!
