At some point in June, and I don't remember exactly when, we must have found out that we were moving. Thus June began the telling everyone, goodbyes, logistics, moving planning, house hunting, trip planning, etc. The boys were in school the whole month, so they were busy and occupied.

Heavy backpack rockets for Daddy from Lewis
to celebrate his new job and promotion! |
Here we are saying goodbye to our dear neighbors, Tim, Margaret, Charlotte, and Annabel. They were leaving for summer holidays and wouldn't be back until after we moved in August.
This picture series says it all.
Not being able to get the boys under control to behave for the camera.
Being somewhat embarassed.
Margaret and Tim not knowing quite what to do with us.
Charlotte and Annabel sort of loving it but sort of confused.
That says a lot about that friendship! ;-)
Here are my sweet boys after church one day!
I will miss my music classes so much. Here are a few shots of some of my families!
10 Year Anniversary!
We celebrated our 10 year anniversary on June 3, 2016.
We feel so blessed that we have had a completely incredible 10 years of life and of marriage.
A couple from the ward came to babysit the kids for just about 24 hours so we could slip away to celebrate. We had booked a room at the Mandarin Oriental downtown overlooking the Marina. We had plans for a very fancy dinner, and then outings the next day, plus a matinee of Les Miserables at the Esplanade.
As it turned out, Mike came down with a stomach bug.
Poor man!!!
And you know what, it was a lovely, wonderful celebration of our 10 years of marriage!
We snuggled up and enjoyed our room together. Mike spent a lot of time in the bathroom and then fell asleep early. I got to take care of him. We had an amazing buffet breakfast the next morning...and Mike nibbled on the toast and oatmeal. Mike rested in the room while I went out and did a bit of shopping. Then in an act of pure love and pure will, he decided to push through and come to Les Miserables. At that point, his stomach bug turned, and he finally started to feel just well enough to sit and enjoy a bit. He was an angel.
And, it was great. It was real life. But real life in which we loved each other so much and were so grateful to be together. Before heading home to the kids, we sat by the pool at the hotel in a little cabana and talked about goals and life and the kids while we watched the sunset over the marina.
The next weekend, I tried to surprise Mike with a Father's Day gift of doing the iFly on Sentosa. As it turned out, since he's had a shoulder injury before, he can't do it. Instead, we headed to the luge and he and the boys did a couple trips down the luge!
They had a blast!
We split up after that and I took Beau to a birthday party at a friend's condo on Sentosa. Mike took the other two boys to Haw Par Villa to see the crazy art and sculptures.
The next weekend, we hosted a pool party for the Reed, Christensen, and Guthier families...plus for ourselves! It was really, really fun! We had Melodie and Brenda come to help with the boys so that we could just host and chat and enjoy. Such a great decision! They helped so much with setting everything up. They had fun with the kids during the party. And they put the boys to bed once it got late. We loved chatting with everyone and getting to have one last Singapore pool party with so many amazing people.
Other than that, the month ended with a last piano lesson, last day of school, last play dates, lasts. Those are hard and good and necessary and pull on the heart strings.
