My most favorite thing I've ever created for our kids was our family chore chart.
We decided that we wanted to combine teaching chores and work with managing earning money. So, as pictured below, each chore earned 50 cents, 5 of which went in these little jars to tithing, 5 of which went into savings, and the rest for "you decide". The boys were SO excited. We reviewed all the chores with them, and they couldn't wait to get to work and earn some money! Lewis became my laundry star, and Beau became a toilet and porch sweeper star. They were both very dilligent the rest of the school year about helping.

One evening, we couldn't find Lewis' lunch box, which it turns out had fallen out of the stroller when we were at the pediatrician's office. Beau was SO excited to help look for it. He ran all the way down the path to the road with me, and thought it was so incredibly exciting to search up and down the road and in the stores for the lunchbox. Being out after dark is SO cool! (Especially when you're not wearing pants!!!)
Here's a shot from a riotous song and dance party the boys had in David's crib after he woke up one afternoon. They sang "5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" for at least 20 minutes straight. David loved the whole thing!!!
And now, Halloween!
We had been reading an abridged version of the Three Musketeers. So, the boys were exctied to join forces and all be that for Halloween.
These attempts with David make me laugh so hard! Poor little thing.
He didn't like this costume AT ALL!

The boys went trick our treating with Mike this time and I stayed home with David to hand out the candy. Lots of ups and downs in the lifts to get their loot!
