We stopped in Arthur's Pass to put everyone to bed, including me. Mike the drove on into the night, and got us all the way to our campsite in Geraldine.
We stayed at this campsite called The Farmyard.
It was a trip!
The owners had built it all in the 70's, and hadn't updated it since. It was filled with crazy stucco structures and seriously old school playground equipment. Amazing! And, they had tons and tons of animals!
There was a gigantic bunny and guinea pig enclosure probably 50 ft in diameter.
Beau was literally in heaven there! He loves bunnies and piggies so much. (He must take after his Auntie Dawn!) We spent what felt like hours playing with them.

They also did donkey rides there, which the boys really liked.

There was a great music zone with drums, chimes, and a xylophone made from barrels and such.
It was well worth it!
We let Mike sleep in to recover while I took morning duty. But, he got to see the campsite too before we headed off.
We spent lunch time in Geraldine, just a small, quaint town.
We ate at this fabulous restaurant called Verde Cafe. The food was exquisite, the baked goods amazing, and the kids loved their "fluffy" - a New Zealand steamed milk specialty!

The rest of the drive that day was so green.
It reminded me more of the UK. Green rolling hills and farmland.
We saw lots and lots of New Zealand sheep along the way!
