February 2016 - New Zealand - Queenstown

New Zealand is pure heaven!

This was the most incredible trip we have ever been on.
We loved every second!

We flew into Queenstown and took a shuttle to our apartment where we were staying for a couple nights. The goal was to enjoy Queenstown for a day and recover on sleep before beginning to drive a camper van!

Queenstown was so beautiful. Such a quaint, fun, bohemian little town on the spectacular lake.

Our first night we pre-ordered our burgers from the local favorite, Fergburger. Such a great move because it saved us at least an hour in line! We took them down to Queenstown Gardens by the water and ate while watching all the backpackers slackline. There was a great walking path that we explored along the lake, some trees to climb, and playgrounds to play on.

The next day we went up the gondola to do the luge. It was really so fun! A great treat for the boys, plus spectacular views!

Lewis had the great excitement of losing his second tooth up at the luge! What a setting for it!

Even little David was allowed to go with us!

These boys were speed racers! (sort of!)

Prior to our luge experience on the mountain, we had brunch at Bespoke Kitchen. I have to say it was one of the best meals I've ever had! New Zealand has amazing farm to table and veggie and vegan food! We also snuck in incredible tacos at Taco Medic - so good!

We also got to the grocery store and stocked up on food for our camper van. That night we spent some time repacking and getting ready for our big adventure.

The next morning, we picked up the camper van as early as we could and spent a couple hours getting loaded up, sorted, and outfitted. What fun!
