July 2016 - India - Agra

We were so excited to see the Taj Mahal.
The kids had studied about it during their two years in school in Singapore.

It definitely did not disappoint! What a phenomenal site. It truly is a wonder!

The kids did well. We got there early to beat the heaviest crowds and get there in the coolest part of the day. Still, the heat sapped the kids' energy. Pictures reflect how they felt. Amazed. They did really like it. But, not enough energy to smile for the camera!

We really feel so grateful to have been able to experience this incredible place.

Most of the rest of our time in Agra was spent at the Oberoi hotel. It was the most luxurious, incredible place we had ever seen. Because we were there in the off season, we also had the place almost to ourselves. The staff was so kind to the kids. At any given moment, there were literally dozens of staff members to attend to their every need!

We celebrated Mike's birthday here again.
The kids swam. We saw a concert. Ate amazing food. Looked out over the Taj Mahal from our window. And generally felt very spoiled.

I also snuck away for an afternoon with our guide to see another palace in Agra, which was so gorgeous. Mike had seen it when he had been in India for work.
