Beach Afternoon

To be honest...we didn't make it to the beach as much as we should have this summer. Once we went, we realized what we had missed! The kids just loved every minute, of course.

We drove out to Spring Lake for an afternoon on the beach. It was gorgeous, perfect weather, not too many people, beautiful sunset, and a most amazingly delicious ice cream afterwards.

Lewis loved running around, building castles in the sand, and most of all jumping in the waves. He couldn't get enough of the waves!

Beau also loved jumping in the waves. But, he really loved "surfing" on Daddy's skimboard (which I believe we inherited from Uncle Jake - thank you!). He was so cute about it all. True to form, even when he was freezing and shivering, he would just stand there, refusing to come in, wanting to get in every last wave!
